Help with Task

I have a task that I want to do and wanted to know if anyone knew of a good way to do it or if there was a good application to do it for me.
What I have at work is a personal drive that has all my files on it. Every evening I want to have the contents of the drive copied to a CD so I can take it home with me easily if I have to.
Is there a good way to set this up or a synchronization utility that anyone might know of to help me out?

Any good backup program will offer you either Mirror or Incremental backups. Mirror scans the target storage and the source, and deletes anything from the target that is no longer in the source, then copies the new files from source to target. Incremental just checks the target to see whether there's anything in the source that's NOT in the target, and copies the missing files from the source to the target.

If you use rewritable media, that can work.

But the better solution would be just to set up your backup program to copy your source drive to your target disc. Then every evening, just before shutdown, hit the backup shortcut with a clean CD in the drive, and wait for it to finish.

CD-Rs cost so little today that pitching five of them a week won't even bruise your wallet, much less break it. And since you only need to depend on them for a day or three, not a year or three, you can shop the bargain basements and use the cheapest CD-Rs you can find. They'll work for your purposes.

 

I wonder if you could schedule a backup to be saved in the cd burning staging area of XP. Then before leaving just click write these files to CD...I bet it can be done.
