Howdy! I am running windows xp home with windows media player 9.0

Everything has been running fine until this morning. Everytime I put in a DVD to watch an error comes up stating that the DVD can not play because of Digital copyright protection.

I do not understand, I have played these DVD before on this system. Did I drop some codecs, decoder ect??????

How can I fix this problem???????

I have tried to download windows media player, but the problem is still there.

    Thanks in advance
    Bill

Windows Media Player does not come with codecs to play DVDs. Some DVDs come with a features limited software player on the disc for those who did not purchase one. This may be what you remember. Try the Freecodecinstaller, it's #7 on the page I'm linking: http://home.earthlink.net/~cresho/vd.htm . It should install the DVD codec for WMP.
