Help with Windows/Video/Etc!!!

I dont know wtf the problem is, this computer was running PERFECT last night while playing BF2.

Today the screen is choppy etc. While loading a map in battlefield you could hear the music skip every once in a while, and when i started playing, it started skipping as i was playing, like jerky.

It is doing it a bit in windows as well!

Here are the things i have done with no results:

Defrag
Completely uninstall/reinstall ATi catalyst drivers
Spyware check with : AdAware, MS Anti spy, Spy Sweeper, Hijack this, etc
Checked vid card to see if hot, was REALLY cool

Maybe it is time to just reinstall windows? I tried to find something running in memory that would be causing it but i couldnt!

Windows XP Home
1.84gHz AMD AthlonXP
2GB PC3200 RAM
80GB and 40GB 7200RPM hard drive
ATi X800XL 8x AGP 256MB vid card

How long have you had the ATI catalyst drivers installed?

i reinstalled them, but i had had them for about a month tops
