have a laptop Sony Vaio / vista os / that is no longer connecting to internet through wireless network. Tried to restore to a restore point prior to problem and restore will not work. Sony tech support told me I needed to fix corrupt drivers before asking me to pay them for a service plan. So I down loaded the wireless network adapter drivers listed for my laptop. Still no luck...when I look in my network / sharing center place it shows that I am connected but still unable to get on line wirelessly. Oh and it worked fine last week before I went to a hospital and got on the free wifi there...had to repair my adapter to do so but didn't think this would happen.

Go into Device Manager and uninstall the wireless adapter and reboot. Then reinstall using the latest drivers.
