help with word

I have installed office xp and 2003 and every time I try to open a document they both have an error and ahve to close it also does it with word pad i ahve tryed uninstalling even formatting and a virus scan any ideas?

 

You have Office XP and Office 2003 on the same machine?

That could be the source of your problem, try uninstalling one or the other and see if that fixes it.

 

I have not installed them at the same time ever im not a noob

 

I know he was not calling me a noob i was joking about that
it doesnt matter what documets i open they all do it it seems like it might be a conflict but i ahve no clue with what. and as far as the error im not shure what it is it jsut says office has encounters a problem and needs to close but i dont know what exactly the error containes. it happens even when i jsut open word.exe to start a new document and i dont have to even type anything and it will ahve the error . thanks for your help

 

When this happes, do you get a message such as

"To see what data this error report contains, click here"

If so, what info displays when you click it?

 

well i looked at that but there was jsut alot of code but i took some SS of what it says

So which HP printer do you have?
And does this happen in Safe Mode?
Apparently there's a development issue with the HPZNTP04.dll driver file, which would explain why it occurs in both Office versions.
I would try uninstalling your printer driver and updating/installing the latest version from HP.
If that doesn't work I found this workaround here:

I added the driver in []

So the gist is (if I read it right) to install an additional printer driver for a different printer, set that as Default Printer before you run Office apps, and only select your printer in the app when you're ready to print.

I couldn't find anything on HP's website about this, but I would contact them for a real fix if I were you.

wow thanks alot man the adding another printer and settingit as the defalt worked. i never would have thought a printer drive would ahve caused that

 

oh one more question how did you find out the error had to do with that
hpzntp04.dll file?

 

The filename is in one of your screenies.
