Help With486x33

Hi In my earlier days I was not very smart and I screwed up my computer I just want to fix it up basically because I want to type recipes in it .I see on ebay all kinds iof disks for 3.1 and I am wondering how do I uninstall the stuff that is already there

you have to use dos to format your harddrive (it's been over 10 years since i've used 3.1) so i can't go into full detail on how to format a 486 with 3.1.

 

I guess I don't clearly understand your question.

The "disks for 3.1" I can only assume are the disks for Windows 3.1.

I would also assume that you don't have these disks so you just want to uninstall the unneeded programs because you can't reinstall windows itself.

Is this correct?

 

More questions... Are you saying your looking to buy 3.1 disks on ebay? I wouldn't risk it, odd are one of will be bad simply due to age. What computer are you using now? A Palm would have more go than a 486.

 

ahh thare isent any thing like a good dos box .. I have a freind that has a lot of old stuff like that. I know he has some windows 3.1 disks, but as Jerkyking said thay prolly have faded with time.. ill get back to ya on that.....
