Help! WMI takeover!

If anyone is a digger like myself or repectfully called a reverse engineer,? would you happen to know why the WMI has taken control of my optical drives? code # MS-409????? Anyway, reinstalled drivers for both opticals, got down to flashing my bios even. I would usually never, but that was my last option.

The last time I had this problem, I went into control panel to my add/remove windows components and unchecked the damn WMI and ahha their were my drives. Now I can't seem to get it unchecked? Seems MS wants me to reformat yet again, but I am damned and determined to stay this time. Anyway sorry for being foul, but I am a bit steamed.

Dell Precision 380 P4 Duo 1g ram, 2- 160g seagate hds, 2-ide opticals NEC DVD/CD R/RW, external hd and the only optical working is Liteon usb dvd r/rw.. XP professional 32bit. any other information you might need please feel free to email or IM Kimberlie or pboriginals@hotmail.com. I am getting pretty desperate here. I would appreciate any suggestions.

To anyone with the same problem that I HAD, yeah, HAD... Just had to take a break a think about it. Went to devices, saw that my PRI IDE controller driver was not jiveing, all "off line" of course. Disabled its DMA, went to services disabled WMI?!? Duh? huh? then went back to devices saw that the dma had changed to location 2 so as i was rebooting went into my bios and changed my DMA for other drives to 1 a few adjustments here and there and voila! my opticals are all in fine working order. Thanks again to everyone.
