I just tried bumping up the freq for the FSB on my Intel Core 2 Extreme running on an Intel board D975XBX and since doing that I have no video. I've been reading the threads and have pulled the battery out, pulled the jumper off and had absolutely no luck. I can see that the video card is working, at least from a fan standpoint but i'm not having any luck getting video at all. I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and knows what to do. Any help???

Just to add a bit more for anyone who may know...I called Intel since the board is under warranty. After talking to them I am wondering if the chip could actually have failed? Has anyone had a system power up with no video and had the motherboard be bad? I'm really hoping that the chip isn't bad. They may have a harder time replacing that than the motherboard.

Explain in detail what you did to bumping up freq for FSB?
    Did you alter any voltages?
Post all your system spec's including your PSU

    Could be Memory issue

    Any beep codes?

    I'd do couple things
Reseat VC & memory, then reset CMOS, sometimes a long reset is necessary, Then try to boot into BIOS
If you can enter BIOS, save system defaults & exit.

Since the system is completely gone right now i'll post what i can remember off hand:

    Intel Core 2 Extreme
4 Gigs of Geil matched memory
    Intel D975XBX Motherboard

From what I can recall I only adjusted the FSB Frequency which defaults at 1066, I changed it to 1333 which was one of the options. That was the only change I made. I saved and exited and lost the system. There were no beep codes which I thought was odd but nothing happened. When I reset cmos and removed the jumper nothing ever changed. I tried several times doing all of that stuff to no avail.

With the system powered off, unplug or turn power switch on the back of the PSU, off
Remove CMOS battery, press your case power button (this will help drain juice from your mobo quickly)
Wait ten minutes, reinstall battery, plugin PSU/switch on, then try to boot to BIOS, if your able to enter BIOS? save defaults & exit.

If this doesnt work, remove Battery for 8 hrs the try again.

FYI, just because BIOS has an Option for anygiven setting that doesnt automaticly mean your Hardware can sustain the setting rolleyes

Jumping from 1066 to 1333 is a big jump, best bet is making small adjustments.
OCing can be a lot of hardwork & it's much more complicated than just kicking up the FSB!

Looking at specs for your MOBO, if you posted the correct one, "Officially" the max Processor System Bus frequency is 1066
Thinking about you stating no Beep codes?
You might have Killed your CPU:cry
    But I cant be certain
If Long CMOS reset doesnt work, I'd test the CPU in another system

    Good Luck

Totally agree on the amount of the change. I was bored! I should have left it alone. I actually have a replacement mobo on the way so I'll test the CPU at that time. If it's gone I'll have to send that in for warranty replacement. I'll let you know. Thanks for the advice.

Got the new board back from warranty replacement. Hooked it back up and it's working fine. So it was the board for sure. Now I wont be touching the speed! :D
