help

ok i have an intel 845g 2.6 it runs fine but absolutely blows on games......theres no AGP or PCIE slots only PCI....i have a 1.6 downstairs with a 256mb graphics card and it runs games fine but not my new one, i want to buy a graphics card for it and i will spend max 300 bucks

PS i live in australia so things arent as cheap

 

what kind of motherboard is it that has no agp or pcie but has a 645g chipset? You may be better off getting a different motherboard that has at least agp, then get a cheaper agp card.


Anyways, for a pci video card, I'd do a search for an old 3dfx voodoo3 to voodoo5 series.

 

its 845 not 645...................im not sure but i think you can get PCi graphics card...its a 2.6, intel make em cos their cheaper

 

WOW!! I looked up the 845g (sorry about the typo) and sure enough there it was without agp or pcie. Some of the nvidia 128mb cards might work good for you too, stay above the geforce 2/3 series though. But a nice 128 mb would probably do well.

 

ok thanks alot, although i have been asking around people say a 3rd party graphics card mite not work but i think i know hot to turn it off in cmos
