Hi I need help
I used the CCCleaner and the allinone tool. Now when I log on my computer the VAIO screen is there without my desktop and my settings. I have to go into task mgr to access programs

 

Try this:

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC then from the Task Manager window select File>New Task and at the command prompt type explorer.exe and hit enter.

Now does your desktop etc show? If not you have probably removed it in the clean up. What all-in-one tool did you run? Did it find anything? Did you quarantine or delete what was found?

 

I tried it and it did not work. The program I used is Advanced WindowsCare 3 Beta 2.8.5 and I checked everything but the defrag option in that section I think it was the system section. Now I cannot find that program on the computer. I did a system restore point before executing anything, but afterwards the system restore did not work either.

 

Sounds like you have completely lost the explorer.exe file somehow. Do you have your Windows disks?

 

Maybe, Im not sure where they are but I can look. I did delete Internet explorer a couple of days ago and started using google chrome browser

 

I have the Sony Vaio recovery disks. Would they help? Would they erase my hard disk if I tried to use them?

 

Look in C:\ Windows - is the explorer.exe file there?

If not then download the attached, extract it to the C\ Windows folder

 

My desktop came back, I browsed for Window explorer and found it and it came back. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Will it continue to come back now?
