Hi. I'm new here, and I have to admit I obviously have NO clue what I'm doing when it comes to a computer.

Here's my problem. I apparently got a nasty virus on my computer that did some damage. My current problem is that I keep getting a pop-up that says:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, Runtime Error! Program:C\Program F...
R 6002 floating point not loaded

I have NO idea what this means or how to make it stop. I was also having registry problems that I believe are not fixed, and earlier tonight I downloaded RegCure, which may or may not have been a good idea.

We've had this problem for a couple months, and a couple days ago a friend who's good with computers came over and spent the entire day trying to fix it. He ended up reinstalling the disk that came with our computer, which wiped out everything we had on it. We thought the problem was fixed, but tonight the same Runtime Error message keeps popping up.

Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this? I'd appreciate any suggestions!!

Also, this is a new development, but I keep getting things that pop up and say No Disk, There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR3.

I'm sure I'm not posting these problems in the correct spot on the forum, sorry!!

Okay, I did some research and found out how to do a disk scan after I read your message. It helped with all the userinit.exe-no disk things popping up but I still have the Microsoft Visual C++ error message coming up. I have noticed that it only pops up when we try to get on the internet. We live out in the country so the only internet option available to us was Verizon Wireless VZ Access. As soon as we click to open the VZ Access is when the Visual C ++ error comes up. The strange thing is, we also use the same internet access on another computer and that computer is fine. . . .

It sounds like your Verizon software needs to be reinstalled. Is this a laptop or a PC?

If you right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware tab>Device Manager what do you see if you clcik the (+) sign next to Network Adapters?

If I click the plus sign it says "1394 Net Adaptor". I uninstalled the Verizon and reinstalled it yesterday and it didn't seem to help.......

I also have a new thing where if I do Ctrl Alt Del a thing pops up and says "the task manager has been disabled by your administrator".

gday stacey you may have to reinstall microsoft visual c running library.but i have concerns with the inability to access the task manager, this could be malware related.but first lets get on top of the visual c problem.
firstly you might want to download a couple of programs, the fist being microsoft visual c you can download it from here " http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...D9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displaylang=en ". secondly you can download windows install cleanup utility from here " http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html ",use this program to uninstall visual c then reinstall the new one.see if this solves that issue, good luck,ps you might want to run ccleaner and scan for issues in the registry before reinstalling this will clean out any invalid registry keys remember to save the backups

gday again stacie upon further research if you look at this site " http://www.securitystronghold.com/gates/yaha.j.html " the description of your issue along with the inability to access your task manager i believe you problem is malware related.
so my advive would be to follow the procedures in the read and run me first malware removal guide located here " http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 " then post your logs in the malware forum and let the experts there assist you for now.
i don't know whether you have already been through this here before and i know you mentioned having virus issues already but the symptoms you describe closely fit the symptoms listed on the above mentioned site.good luck sorry i could not be of more help

Thank you very much for all your help! It's nice of you to take time out of your busy day to give a stranger advice!! I have finally had enough and unhooked the whole thing and taken it to a professional. My knowledge is very limited and it wasn't worth losing my mind over!! :)

    Thanks again!!
