Help!

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I've really screwed up.

I was halfway through your malware removal guide when, at combofix, they asked me to disable any firewall. Apparently nvidia firewall was running, but i couldn't find it. I found a thread at another website saying to uninstall all invidia items, and i did, except now all i get is a blank screen in normal start-up and i can't use my mouse in any safe mode. I think i uninstalled the nvidia ethernet and something else. I can't remember!

I've been trying to get rid of this virus for days, and I'm finally getting there when this happens! Please help!

Chances are you uninstalled your nVidia chipset drivers by mistake. In order to help you locate the right download, we need to know the make and model of your PC and/or motherboard, and which version of Windows you're running.

 

windows xp 32 bit, its a home-made computer built by my friend, amd 64 athlon motherboard. Does that sound right?

 

OK... you have Windows XP, but we need to know the make/model of the motherboard. If you're unsure, you can use a program like Everest to find out the make and model, then post it here.

 

I'm using my laptop at the moment, as I can't even access the desktop of my tower, so the program would be useless. An ABIT AN8 series motherboard, from the paperwork. Please excuse a certain absolute lack of computer knowledge!

 

AN8 Ultra. I found downloads for the chipset driver, but how do I get them on my computer without the use of a mouse to log in?
