Help

I'm have the AOL DSL internet setup, sadly.

And whenever a new viewing window pops up, nothing appears, it just goes blank. This is creating a very big problem for me, and iw as wondering if you could help.

 

are you using AOL's browser (IE) or are you circumventing that and using IE 6 or something else?

 

I'm using AOL's browser system.

 

I just tried using IE and i'm having the same problem.

 

ok, lets try this then

go to start.. run.. type the following in

REGSVR32 MSHTML.DLL
hit enter
you should get a message saying wether the registration succeeded or failed. if successful, test the system and see if the problem still happens.

 

I ran it, and it was succesful, but i'm still having that problem.

I ran a bunch of those tests, and they were all succsesful but it didn't fix it.

I can't find the tools folder.

Yeah, but how exactly do i get to my browser and to tools with windows 98?

 

folder options is an available option for you instead of tools..

 

Here is another file to reregister:

start-run

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

 

none of those tests are working and i dont know how to get into the folder options. someone help me

 

FUNKMASTER...........I have AOL too. But I have dial-up. Are you running AOL 8.0 ???? If you ARE, click on the HELP button in the AOL toolbar, and then select "check my computer". It works very well. PLUS..........Did you try live AOL help yet, and chat with a tech?

 

I ran the system test, and it said it was fine. But i can't talk to the live tech because of my problem. When i click on it to talk to a tech, it opens in a new window. And because of my problem, the wondow is blank. Usually what i do is right click on a link and "copy shortcut" and paste it into my toolbar. But it wont let me right click on the link to talk to the tech.

 

FUNKMASTER..........Are you still stuck??? Post again, and try feeding us some more info. More details, may yield you a remedy. Did this problem JUST develop when you set up AOL Broadband? Did you have AOL Dial-Up before this, and was all ok then? Did you uninstall previous version(s) of ISP software, and install fresh? Did you install from a disk, or VIA internet? etc.etc.
