    can somebody help im goign to school to ccna and i am have some issues i was hoping someone could help me resolve. i am assigning addresses to my topology and i don't know what addresses to asign to the serial and ehternet interfaces. do they get an ip address or a subnet address. If it is a WAN is it different

    Point to point serial interfaces typically use a /30 subnet mask which gives you the exact amount of addresses needed for that link. I dont know how your addressing scheme is or if youre subnetting at all, but thats what i do to conserve IP addresses, and just easier on the eyes so see where your addresses are assigned to. Ethernet interfaces can be subnetted too if you want.

    i might not really understand what youre asking though. your serial and ethernet interfaces on your routers need IPs....
