Help!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought and LG GE24 external super multi dvd rewriter. Since my internal dvd drive no longer works, I can't install the driver and Windows 7 doesn't recognize the new drive, so I can't use it to install the driver. Of course LG doesn't have a section of their website devoted to driver downloads and their support people don't work on weekends or at night. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I'll try it. One problem I'm having is that windows won't detect the drive at all. I'll see if I can work it out with the software.

 

Try going to Control Panel>Troubleshooting>Hardware and Sound>Configure a Device and run the troubleshooter. See if it detects the drive at all.

 

I'm having the exact same problem. Can't find the drive on line (tried your site) and the computer is not even recognizing the new hardware (unless you go to hardware via the control panel). Could the disk be loaded to another pc or laptop, save the file on a flash and upload that way? Very frustrating

 

It is also odd if I go to Device Manager, I can see the new unit and when I click on it the status reads: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

But if you search on line for the driver it says: Windows has determined the driver is up to date.
