Help !!!!

My computer is wacked and iv never ben good with software.
I can't open internet explorer links in a windo it shows a blank windo and a blamk addres bar.
I can't download windows updates wen i start downloding thim it desplays perparing to download and freezes. Windows explorer frequently crashes and so does media player.
I have nortin antivires fully updated and it finds no problims. Spybot - Search & Destroy
also finds no problims. I have window XP pro corprit edition.

 

Check your settings to see what you have as startup page in internet explorer.

open internet explorer
then go to internet options
then check on the general tab what you have as a default page

 

Try this
go to start..run.. type

REGSVR32.EXE URLMON.DLL
hit enter

if that doesn't work do this
REGSVR32.EXE MSHTML.DLL

 

I have alredy tryed those. Nether worked.

 

The random crashing of your applications could sound like some hardware error, run some RAM checker.

You could try to manually download the latest update for Internet Explorer and hope it fixes enough to make Windows Update work:
