Does anyone know of any FREE trojan horse removers? Or any free Anti viruss (other than AGV).

You can always download a trial of like Norton or McAfee or another big name antivirus program. I'm sure a trial is available somewhere on the internet.

Welll I know where the trojan is. It's in owners/local settings. any one know how to Get there so I can remove it?

 

You had originally asked for an antivirus program so I was merely trying to give that advice, sorry for not understanding correctly

 

Well a anti virus would be great, but if I knew how to get to the virus and remove it would be good also.

An excelent free AV program, which I use myself. Very user friendly, unobtrusive and effective.

Ok. To enable us to give you advice on how to get rid of the trojan you've got, we need to know what exactly it is. So any one of those tools would tell you, in fact AVG has probably told you somthing about it, a name at least, but hasnt been able to remove it. If you give us a name, we can look it up and translate the technical jargon for you so you can remove it.

 

Ok I found out about it with AGV but AGV can't remove it.

What is OS?

The name is Trojan horse downloader.siboco.B It is in C:\documents and setting\OWNER\Local Setting\TEMP\~9282888548.tmp

 

Why not delete your temp files?

 

An OS stands for Operating System. Examples of operating systems are windows, linux, bsd, Apple, lindows, debian...

 

I use XP home edition.

CCleaner also known as Crap Cleaner will delete the temp files. You can also free up a lot of space with this program. It is available for download on MG.

Hell, delete those temp files IN safe mode (the virus specific ones), turn off system restore, then do a scan.

Wait, no, before I collapse, you dont have an OS select screen... so just tap F8 while the machine boots windows.

The scanner wont work.

 

It gave a error when I tryed to run it.

 

I found a unable to load virus scan engin.
I just scaned again with AGV and its in the same place still.

 

I removed the virus in safe mode.
