Help !!

Please help. We have never had a problem with our PC until one day my husband decided to open a spam e-mail and then every trouble imaginable has broken loose. It downloaded all kinds of stuff, and dialers. We downloaded an ran Adaware SE. That helped some. We got a firewall and virus scan. But it seems our PC is still not working right. Another annoyance is that every time you change a web page our firewall asked to allow or block a program in the system files called L?ASS.EXE. Can someone tell me what this is? If I go into my computer I cannot find the file itself. Should I be blocking this or not. Thanks!!

 

This is malware! Definitely block it.

Please note the steps that you are able to complete and the ones that give you problems. Note that you need to be in Safe Mode with System Restore OFF (if you have it - you didn't give OS) and have the Viewing of Hidden Files ENABLED as per the instructions in the link. Make sure to do the Online Scans.
