Help!

hey guys. i have a 3200+ athlon compaq presario with 1gb ram and i bought a radeon 9800pro about 3 months ago. im not sure if its my card or something else but certain games are crashing on me, before they even load its usually on menus and at the end of loading screens. doom3 and kotr to name 2. ive played a bunch of games and they worked flawlessly, but then again none of them were really pushing my card, they were older games. im pretty sure my drivers are up to date, i could be wrong because im kind of new to computers and am learning. i think it might be something with my card because when i had an error right now with doom3 i clicked on send error report and somehow ended up on the ATI radeon site. if you can help itd be great cause im going nuts here

 

Shutdown everything you don't need running and try! I've had problems with high demand graphics and XP. Sometimes when running fast games, an app will do something in the background and it will crash the game and sometimes the PC. If that doesn't work, it's probably just something in your software settings. I would check on these, before you jump to the conclusion of a bad card. I've had many video cards and in my experience, I ve only seen 1 bad card. Lots of other issues though, and usually if it works at all, it should work well with some adjustment. I'm not an ATI guy, I prefer Nvidia, so I can't help much more than this, someone else can work it out with ya tho, just give em time.
