Help!!

ok... I found this website because I have a definate techy .. anyway.. i have dial up... (yes, im broke) and so my computer is slow already...but it is now beyond slow...terrribly slow.... and i was once told that my computer might have stuff on it i dont know about or that it could be a virus or whatever that my virus detection doesnt pick up... im lost... can anyone give me any advice... (aside from getting hi speed)

What OS are you running? How ful is your hard drive? Clean up your hard drive. Look for some built in tools to remove old internet pages, temp files , scandisk, defrag lots of simple things that might make a difference.

 

I use windows xp .. I do the general clean up stuff (defrag, disk cleanup, etc...) on a regular basis....im not sure whats up here .. im not sure how much memory i have available... i know that ive got quite a bit of memory overall...
