Help!?!?!?

as i said in a post im a wanna be geek and i started to learn C++ but it was too hard(hey im going into 8th grade) and decided to do python. Python is going good but i still need help with that because i know there is stuff you can do the the stupid pdfs aren't telling me!

Needs: Help learning Python, PHP, Java, and whatever is a necesity for a geek.

i will take any help!

p.s.: how do you make a sub domain on a website. say it is www.mercyfund.org. The home page is at default 'index.html' (i need php!!!) how would i make donate.mercyfund.org?

 

best bet is to google "PHP tutorial" or "Python tutorial" ect..

as for the subdomain you have to get that feature from your server, my server I have it costs extra money to have subdomains

 

it has the feature for free(100 of em) but HOW do i do that?

i know about teh googling but i never have liked pdf's that teach because if i don't understand(very likley) no one can help me. do you have a particular one, or how did all you guys learn?

 

i just checked python tutorial and i've read it all. it gives the same basic stuff that i already know and some of it doesn't even work. php was more productive but not for long.

PHP has little to do with making sub domains. This is a function of the NOS (Network Operating System: Linux.Unix, Windows Server etc).
It has to do with with DNS entries.

 

i know php has nothing to do with it. i just wanted to know both. I'ma kid and the programming industry is growing.

well, DNS on linux is a right pain in the butt. Start with learning linux first before you get to messing with making your own DNS entries.

There's a lot more to it than dropping a script in to create a subdomain. You need access to the Primary DNS controller as far as I know. Beyond that point with PHP, I'm of no use. You'd have to search for "Programmatically Create Subdomain PHP".. I know you can do this with ASP.NET and an HTTP Module but that's because ASP.NET gives you access to a lot more than PHP does.

 

oomar perhaps you ought to see if your webhost has a support forum. If they do (and most do) they can best serve your "How do I . . " questions based on a working knowlege of their software. It's not entirely fair of you to expect people who don't really understand what your knowlege base includes to teach you something that may not work anyway given that you haven't included adequate info or at the very least very specific info. (Who is your webhost, what kind of data base do they use, etc.) Try googling for some web building sites. This one deals mostly with pc problems and software issues. There are some very good sites out there that specialize in teaching about building websites. Some are even designed to teach kids.
