Help_with_RAM_stick_question

    Guys_sorry_about_the_underscores_but_my_Space_bar_doesn't_work.

    Here's_the_problem:_My_father-in-aw_has_an_old_PC_that_someone
    build_for_him._He_now_want's_to_add_RAM,_I_took_out_one_of_the_RAm_
    sticks_he_has_in_his_PC_now:--DDR-333,PC-2700.
    It_only_has_2_slots_that_are_filled_with_2_256MB_sticks...making_a_total
    of_512MB.
    My_question_is_how_much_RAM_can_he_add?--Can_he_replace_the_existing
    Sticks_with_2_1Gig_RAM_sticks...Would_this_be_too_much?--He's_running
    Windows_2000(professional).

    The motherboard should be able to handle 2x1gb, but it really depends. Some older motherboards may not be able to use more than 2x512mb or even the 2x256mb that is currently installed. Go to the motherboard/PC maker's web site and get the exact specs for the model in question.
