OK, Got into this for a good friend. They have a Dell Optiplex 360 running Win XP SP3 with 2 GB ram. They were having issues getting on the internet. I uninstalled some programs that they did not use. Downloaded all the tools to my personal laptop and put them on a usb to install on their machine before connecting to my network. Followed the Read Me First directions.

    AdwCleaner would not run
    Malwarebytes ran
    Ran Rogue Killer
Ran Hitman Pro as not having internet access (had not connected to my network yet)
    Ran MG Tools

There were no directions for TDSKiller for XP, so it was not run.

I have connected to my network now and I was able to download Firefox after running the scans. IE is still showing that it is unable to connect to the internet. Google is set as the home page.

    Logs attached

    Thanks
    Tom

Looks like MBAM took care of most of it. Please allow Hitman to remove everything it found as well as RogueKiller. Reboot and rescan with all three. Attach new logs.

You need to council your Client about XP .....it is a security risk not only to them, but to others.

    Tim,
Sorry for the delay, but my mother-in-law fell and broke her hip:(, so i set this aside for a few days. Here are the new log files. I have also convinced them to upgrade to a more stable OS. I will do that after you have looked over the log files and offer your advice. I just want to be sure that if i upgrade then to Windows 10 that there are no remnants of anything that will affect them.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Your logs are clean. You can proceed with an upgrade.

These things happen when we get older. She is going to be as fine as an 83 old can be (no worries divulging her age as no one here knows her;)). Just throws our life in a bit of temporary turmoil, but we can indeed survive it. I only feel sorry for our dog, since he cannot understand why we are not at home as much as we normally are. And yes he get plenty of treats and loving when we do get back home.

Glad to know that i can proceed with the upgrade of this system and that they understood what my wife and I where dealing with and told me to take my time on the system.

    Thanks again!
    Tom
