Here Is My New Rig - Old One Was A 3200+

The rig in my sig gave up the ghost. I have no idea why. So, here is what I got:

- AMD 64 4000+ 939 Pin San Diego Rev. E
- Ausu AN8-E Motherboard
- 512MB PC3200 400MHz DDR Certified SPD Memory Upgrade for DDR400

I got the above with assembly, testing, and pretty good shipping for about $408. I used pricewatch. I could of done better price wise if I shopped piecemeal maybe but I wanted to avoid the hassle of assembly. I have had a string of bad luck lately including destroying family room carpet, a hit and run accident, a broken laptop, among other things. So I dare not chance a computer assembly at this point. I know I could have done better with the mobo, but time and budget were an issue.

I finished it off with an x800 XT PCI-E video card. I will move my hard drives and DVD drives over from the old rig.

I am hoping to see a huge improvement over the old system. My games of choice include Oblivion, LOMAC, Pacific Figheters, Dawn of War + exmpansions, and CIV IV. Although my old setup did pretty good, I am pretty excited to play with at least moderately better settings and or resolutions.
I might even give NWN2 a go.

 

Oops! I do have 1 gig of ram. I had another stick already!
