Heretofind

HELP have been over taken by "heretofind"

 

Star17 ive done that keeps comming back

 

i have system restore off ive run hijackthis fixed the problems done regedit and removed heretofind there

 

i followed some general instructions for removing, i must be missing something

 

Those are the directions i followed works for a few reboots then it comes back!

 

how do i post it as a text attachment?

 

boy must be stupid, dont see how to save that as a text file

I updated windows and followed the steps after several reboots i think it is fixed. Thanks for the help, and what about me having too many processes running in background?

 

What I have found to fix the Heretofind problem specifically is deleting a folder called "spe" from your hard disk. Location of it for me was C:\spe.
Delete that folder and everything in it. Preferably do it in safe mode, with System Restore turned off, and follow up with Ad-Aware to catch changed registry keys and homepage settings etc.

 

Well for two hours I have been fighting with Hijack this, Spyblaster, etc.. Thank you for the pointer to delete c:\SPE.. That did the trick and Heretofind is now gone.. My daughter will be happy to be able to use the computer again..
