Hey there everyone, first post here, hope to stay for a good, long while. I have a few questions though... For one, where are the forum rules? I looked around and couldn't find them anywhere... I want to make sure I don't say something that'll get me banned or something. Second, this is not complaining, I'm just wondering, why is BB Code disabled in signatures? Most people don't normally do that, so I'm wondering if there's a particular reason.

Hello and welcome... to my knowledge there isn't a formal list of rules but I would say these are some general rules for the boards:

1) Don't post anything relating to warez, pirating software, key generators, or downloading copywrited material

2) If you are going to refer someone to download a program, check Majorgeeks first to see if they host the program and if they do, use the Majorgeeks download link to refer them

3) In the Tech Support forums, if you post in someone's thread make sure you are contributing to helping get their problem resolved. Use good judgement in offering instructions to someone, if you're not informed about the issue at hand, stand back and a forum mod or another MG user will eventually mosey along and provide the needed assistance....

4) Be kind, couteous, and respectful of others.

5) If you have a problem with another MG user instead of exchanging words on the forums either use PM's or report a post/thread to the moderators and have them handle it...


The nice thing about these forums is that people very infrequently step out of line... the mods run a tight ship so the atmosphere is one that doesn't allow for trolling, flaming, or general forum immaturity...

aloha and welcome. i have no doubt that you will enjoy a long stay on this boards. once joined, people tend to stay. this is one of the best run forums i have seen (and ergo, the only one i belong to). the tech threads are not only helpful, but indispensable. i have never posed a question, no matter whether simple or confusing, that hasn't been answered with care and excellence. the lounge is also an absolute font of miscellaneous info, and much amusement. enjoy, and once again aloha.

I can see where a lot of ppl are coming from when they say that they dont want to read a bunch of stuff on the bottom of every post. there is an option to disable signatures in posts i believe. I for one think it would be cool to allow everyone to have like one image say 400x200 at most. It provides a little more flavor than just an avatar.
