I have an interesting question for the audiophile. What can i do to get more punch out of my 18 inch peavy Stage sub? I have 2 7 band EQs. An old pioneer and one on my mixer. I have a Yamaha HTR-5930 that powers my front pas and i use the active sub out on it run to an Insignia 200w 2ch stereo. I know i am underpowering it pretty badly. I am going to fix that soon. What can i do to make it more punchy and crisp than boomy?
    Thanks
    Derek

Put the sub in a measured sealed enclosure, this link may help with the size of the enclosure although its the first page with a sub enclosure calculator I found on Google.

A sealed enclosure is the way to go though, for the sound you want.

Thanks. I figured that a sealed enclosure might work better. It is in a ported enclosure right now.
