Hi all ... I am a beginner and I ask for help from an expert!

What is my problem? I use Outlook 2007 and I was looking for a program to extract the attached files and also compress my pst offline!

So I installed for my misfortune, PST Viewer Pro v6, he changed a lot of file associations grrrr!

As soon as installed, as soon de-installed!!!

I'm left with the following problem: for viewing GIF files in Outlook 2007 you must: open the message, select other actions and display in browser!
Now instead to open MHTLM file directly in IE it, he asks me if I want to save the file ! NO, I want to open it directly!!!!

How to restore this association between IE and Outlook so that this mail has displayed directly in IE!

I've reinstalled Office2007, performed "Tweaking.com - Windows Repair (All in One)" Fix IE utility!
I do not know what to do!

    Thank you for helping me

    Hello,

I believe restoring certain settings for program defaults will solve your problem. What version of Windows are you using?

The settings for program defaults are found in Control Panel | Programs | Default Programs | Set Default Programs. That is the sequence if you're Control Panel view is set to Category; it you have View by set to Small Icons or Large Icons, you would select Default Programs from the Control Panel items. Alternatively, you can just click in your Start button and type "set default programs" in the search box.

Once you have the Set Default Programs panel open, select Internet Explorer in the left column. At the bottom right of the screen, click "Click defaults for this program". On the next screen, you "set associations for a program". On that screen, you can either check the box for "Select All" or selectively pick the items you want.

reset all file association for IE without sucess !

Each time I open a mail, click on more action and view in browser, I get a Windows asking me if I want to save mail.mht, what I do, the button "save" change to "open" and I get an error message "IE stop to works...."
Also if I go to the downloafolder and try to open the MHT file I get the same error

In the meantime I run Malwarebytes, no problem found !

    What about re-installing IE 11.0.9600.17 (update 11.11 (KB2976627) ?

Or is there in registry an option open in place to save MHT files ?

    Tanks anyway

It may help or it may not but System restore is always worth a try when something happens.

Hello Nick T, I tried the reset IE unsuccessfully shame ...
Hello Earthling, I'll already try a system restore, I've tried but failed because it seems antivirus runing !? I will deactivate before trying!
Thank you guys for the effort!

You could try System Restore in Safe Mode. That helps sometimes, or if it still fails try running restrui.exe in an elevated command prompt. That can be slow, so be patient.

Thank you guys this is resolved, but it was hard!
Solved with a system restore but I was forced after several failures to de-install the antivirus before (ESET Smart Security 7)!

Wow it was not easy, there are no problems just solutions!
    Thank you again to all
