Hi..can anyone help me with an error on my computer?

I have the following error code coming up my computer...system has detected an error in the following file..
spooldr.sys

I tried to reinstall Windows XP in hopes that would correct the file..but when I put in the cd it won't run...
Help.....I am thinking....maybe it is time to charge a new computer..but I really can not afford it..
I know I should have dated a computer geek~~~~~~~~~and then I would be all set!

 

I went to that website via this very old computer...The problem is, I can not run anything on that computer that has the sys problem...I even tried to run the reinstall cd for my operating system...and it wouldn't recognize it...
So how the heck do I get the virus off of there? I have no clue and no one here to help me...and if I take it to a computer store they will charge a fortune...and for that much cash I guess I might as well buy a new computer...
