I'm not too sure where to post this, so I guess this would be the best forum to start in =)

Basically I have a bit of a problem. I have over 5,000 songs that I use in a program thats called PCDJ FX VRM. In these 5,000 songs the ID3 tags aren't proper.. PCDJ I believe uses these ID3 tags when you monitor a folder.

I used MP3-Tag Generator to rename the ID3 tags... PCDJ still isn't coming up with the proper names. It's showing Track 1 Track 2 etc etc.

I know quite a bit about software like this, but i am confused on why it's not taking the new tags.

Basically I run digital DJ and Karaoke shows from my laptop.. but if I search for an artist I know I have, in the DJ program, and it won't come up because of the program loading up as tracks rather than artist name (as specified in the ID3 tags I just did) it's frustrating in the middle of a show. And committing 5,000 different songs to memory is kind of a pain..

Is there maybe a better program to use for DJing? Perhaps one that will actually properly read the actual file name and proper ID3 tags?

Again, sorry if this is the wrong forum.. and thank you for any help in this matter. Right now I'm frustrated beyond belief and just want my DJ/KJ shows to go smoother! =)

    Hi

You managed to reply this time above, what was the issue you had in replying? If you were typing a long post/reply out and got logged off, its due to not ticking the "remember me" box when logging in.

Forums are for sharing info and what you have to say may help someone else in the future..... I'd like to hear your options for ID3 tags.

Email removed due to many spambots harvesting them.

Each time I would get half way through entering a message, the page would change back to the original thread, and I would lose everything I had entered. After three tries, I gave up. As for the ID3 Tags problem, highlight the song title in the Record Case, then right-click on the song. When the selections pop up, click on "Edit ID3 Tags", and the ID3 Tag boxes will appear. YOU CANNOT ENTER ANY NUMBERS, SYMBOLS OR QUOTES IN THOSE BOXES. I found that out when I called the PCDJFX VRM program's designer. Hope this helps you a little.

    Take care,
