    I'm new to this forum thingy, but I have a problem, tried microsoft support but no help there!!!!.

    windows explorer will open files in a new window on 'double click' even though 'open in same window is checked in folder properties'

    os- windows 7 ultimate

    intel core duo processor

    anyone got any suggestions?

    Hi

    First off see if the same is happening in Safe Mode (F8 at boot)?

    In Folder Options then the View tab make sure that Launch folder windows in a separate process is not checked as it will overide other commands and can open a new window or folder in a new folder/window.

    What Antivirus application are us using, is it by any change McAfee?


    I do have a registry possible fix for this but try the above first and answer the questions, and are you confident in editing the registry?
