    Media players. why so many? etc. microsoft media player, quicktime, flash player?.do we need all of them?

    Media player with add on codecs will play many various media formats, video to music,

    Quicktime plays Apples proprietary media format.

    Adobe Flashplayer is needed to well see flash content on webpages as well as play flash games.

    SO if you wish to view any of the above and Flashplayer is very popular with many websites in there animations then yes.

    OK so do they all get along on the same computer?

    They appear to be pretty compatable, and useful when required.

    Yes they do.never had any issues with any of those and have all three on my PCs.
