Hi my system crashed and I don't understand why? it said that I have either a corrupt

    or missing file? here is the error message I got today:(
    Hi my computer won't boot it says that a file is corrupted, what do I do?


    it says windows 2000 could not start because the following file is either missing or corrupt:
    \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM ced

    What you have here is what's called a registry "hive" file that's gone south on you. The easiest way to repair this is to perform an in-place safe reload of Windows "over the top" of itself. That way you won't lose any data or programs, but you will have to reload any Windows updates, and occasionally a driver or two may need reloading.
