I am being overwhelmed by spam email... of course, who isn't... is there any way I can truly block spammer's email from coming into my live / outlook email, or am I just permanently screwed and destined to have to look thru JUNK and DELETED for the occasional GOOD EMAIL gone bad forever?
    Much thanks

I assume you are using the website for outlook/live.
Have you attempted to block any of the spam emails? Have you whitelisted addresses you want email from so they don't go into the junk folder?

Settings, then View all Outlook settings
Go to Junk email, then choose Safe senders and domains or Safe mailing lists to select the domain or email you want to whitelist.

I can usually tell without opening emails if they are junk/spam. In Juno, I can send to the junk folder immediately or block sender. In Yahoo, I can mark it as spam but if I want to block it, I have to open it and copy and paste the email address. If I see several from the same place I can block using a wildcard
    example *@domain name.extension

Hi plodr... yes, I still use the free 'live', which is now 'outlook'.
Yes, I have spent hundreds of hours over the last two years, every day, either marking the spam emails as 'phishing', or 'block', and even some I have created rules in 'advanced actions' to 'redirect' the emails back to the sender's email address.
Of course, this has caused some anger from the spammers, thus more spam.
I can tell which is spam, and my email sorts them to a point, however, I also have emails which go into junk and deleted, thus I end up scrolling through sometimes dozens of spam emails to find one I need.
As 'block' really does not stop the email from being accepted, and clicking 'phishing' and or 'block obviously does little, if anything, I had hoped there might be another option.

Sorry, that's all I have. I don't get spam in my outlook webmail probably because so few know that address and it is not my main email address.
