Hi to all from Mary Mc

I'm so happy to find this forum! I hope somebody can help me. I use Outlook Express for email and all of a sudden the delete key won't work when I'm composing an email. I can backspace the errors out but sometimes I like to delete a whole paragraph by highlighting the block of text and hitting the delete key. However, when I do this now, nothing happens. I don't think it's a keyboard problem because when I use my other email account (G-mail) the delete key works fine. It also works OK when I'm composing a document in Wordperfect. Has this ever happened to anybody else and how can I fix it? I tried a system restore but it didn't help. Thanks so much! (p.s. the delete key worked fine just now as I am composing this but can't figure what's wrong with OE?)

I just tried that and it worked!!! But what made that happen?

 

This is going to sound really strange, but I notice when I highlight the text I want to delete (holding down shift and right arrow key) the letters of text are kind of outlined in red or blue (or kind of outlined in these colors). This ONLY happens in Outlook Express, maybe I should just use G-mail but am so used to OE! Hope you don't think I'm nuts! The backspace key does delete the block of text which is fine, but I still miss having a delete key that works! Thanks so much.

 

But it always worked in the past? Could I have inadvertently done something to disable it?
