Hi...

    I'm a learned how to use my computer thru trial and error sort of guy.

    I use email, spreadsheets and word processor to communicate with customers, friends and acquaintances.

    Although I have posted a question here recently, I felt it time to find out how to post questions when I really don't know which forum category to use regarding a particular 'thing' I am curious about... lol...

    Just for FYI purposes, I have a 6 year old HP with Norton Internet Security 2008 installed.

    Maybe I can learn some things on here...

    If you look at the main index page here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php and scroll down you will see all the various sections.

    If you're asking a question about a hard drive replacement for instance you'd be good to post in hardware...if you're asking a question regarding outlook express then it would go in software....if you're infected and need help..then malware removal...anyway welcome again and enjoy

    Thanks WildWolf... and I wish I had more time to rummage around on here... but darn it, I have become accustomed to eating on a regular basis and that in itself requires work... lol

    Hi

    If its about physical hardware of a PC then go with Hardware and if about any application be that Windows, Office etc then go with software as rule of thumb, if its more a networking or say driver question, one of the admins/moderators will move it to the approprieate place for you. Just stear clear of the Welcome Center for questions as it may go un-noticed for a while.

    Basically just weigh up which area of computing it best fits and you'll be ok.
