    Howdy,
I have a three/four year old PC and every time I hibernate it, when I resume operation I have a problem accessing the internet as the computer, when I try to repair wireless network connection, cannot renew my IP address. Any thoughts on why this would be? Possible solution?

    Thank you much,
    Matthew

The speed of reconnection in wireless networks is not fixed but varies from installation to installation. Consequently the point in the restart cycle that the wifi appears varioes and can't be predicted or controlled.

I have seen the wifi reconnection time vary from coming on with Windows to taking 1/2 minutes after Windows has started.

As a result reconnection from hibernation is unreliable, especially if the hibernation file contains connection information which is no longer appropriate.

In short Windows starup from hibernation is faster than wifi reconnection and may contain obsolete IP information.

I'm afraid the answer is not to use hibernation, you are lucky you can restart at all.

To clear the current problem go to the control panel, choose power options and turn off hibernation.
    Then restart the pc.

If you must then turn hibnernation back on, but I don't recommend it.
