    Hi geeks,
I don't know some one ever post this before. I use alot of my night time to download mega big files (using DAP) and I just want to know can I still do that (download) if I put my computer into hibernation.
Reason is I want to save my electric bill, I've been doing this for more then 2 months and I notice my bill was shooting up.

I don't think it's possible. When a computer hibernates it stores things in memory and then shuts down all nonenssential things running.

I just tried and it didn't work. I have a DSL Ethernet connection and as soon as the hibernation started my connection shut down and it stopped transmitting.

It's probably the same for all modems. :(

Hellwalker.......You know you can shut the power switch for the monitor off , and the computer will continue with it's task.......right? I'm pretty sure it's the monitor that uses the most electricity.

    Brian C,

What about standby mode? If this cannot be done then I 've to stick to monitor off method.

Standby is a lower power mode, usually only leaving fans running. Your hard drive even powers down.

Think you are going to have to live with monitor off method.
