I am having major problems with my Acer netbook. My cursor keeps jumping all over the place. It will insert what I am typing in words I already typed, or it will jump ahead and put the words/letters further down. It will send e-mails before I am ready. I think this is the third time I have tried to start this e-mail.
I attend adult classes. The computer instructor recognized what I was talking
about, but only knew how to fix it in a document - not in e-mail. He is the one who gave me this site to go to.

Anther problem is that the cursor keeps opening up more copies of the same e-mail.

Please help. This is driving me crazy.....

    Thanks for all help.

Attach an external keyboard and see if the same behavior occurs.
The sensitivity of a touchpad might be the problem. As you type on the netbook, your wrist grazes the touchpad and might initiate clicking even though you do not want to click something.
Also, what exact model of Acer netbook do you own? If I search for touchpad drivers, I want to be sure it is for your hardware.

I have an Acer Aspire One. The O in One has what looks like to be either the number 1, or an xclamation point.

I am pretty sure that i am not grazing the touchpad. Just to make sure, I am very carefully typing this like you would play piano, and it is occuring while I am doing this e-mail. never had this problem with a regular computer.

I will have to go get the keyboard from my regular computer and try that, and report back.

    Thanks so much for help.

As long as you have an external mouse plugged in, you should be able to disable the touchpad by using the Fn + F7 keys.
