hiding desktop icons

i want a program that will hide my desktop icons, i have looked throughout the mg site but there are so many and i hate to download and install something and then have to uninstall it because it doesnt do what i am looking. I am currently running winwall for my wallpapers. i would like either have a program in which i can do both or will not interfere with winwall. any suggestions? thanks in advance

 

If you have windows xp you do not need to get a program just point to an empty space on the desktop go to arrange icons by.. then either check or uncheck show desktop items

i however didnt completely explain what i was trying to do. i was trying to hide them and when i move the mouse cursor over them they reappear and then hide again after 5 seconds or so. i found a program called iconoid that does. so i am set for now. thanks
