I have cable internet. So a while back I purchase some rg6 75 ohm high performance 3.0ghz digital cable under some belief that it would help my internet speed, But...........

I just realized that the connection is from the basic wire(9900963 18AWG) in the floor to my high performance cable. Not only that, but my high performance cable runs up to a split for the router and modem, one going Have I basically done nothing to my internet speed?

    Basic cable: 9900963 18AWG
    Splitter: Atronix 2-way Splitter 5-1002MHz CMC2002H
    Premium cable: 9900963 18awg

Should I spend the money to upgrade the wire from the floor, the modem, router, and find a better splitter? Will that increase my speed at all?

Also I have a cheap phone cable too, do they even make upgrade phone cables? Not Ethernet cables, but phone cables.

Tell you what. I will grab some cables out of my box, package them, then place on the label that they are "High Speed" Cables, if that makes you feel any better.

Majority of the cables that are rated "high speed" are no better than those that are not. Copper wiring is copper wiring, along with the di-electric coating that is used on them.

But hey, if you wish to pay more, just because some company like Monster, or one of the higher priced snake oil companies want to part you with your money, go for it.

I personally buy all of my cables from Monoprice.com, there are some that buy from Blue jean Cables, and they are just as good as the high priced garbage.

I'm also looking for a bridge if you have one of those I can buy.

All kidding aside, it is about the end connectors, which decide if a cable is cheap or not. Every cable I purchase is from Monoprice.com. Now of course, I have bought stuff like a battery iPhone case, an an antenna, which those I would not recommend to anyone. Also did have a case with one of the 1 1/2 foot RG-6 jumpers have the end come off, but since I had extras, I did not figure to have Monoprice send a new one at that time.

Otherwise, their hdmi cables, audio I would say they are well worth the price.
