Hello All. I have a very difficult problem and I'm on the verge of changing my motherboard to fix it, although I'm not even 100% sure that will do the job. Let me explain.

This problem has had me perplexed for quite some time. I have tried NUMEROUS fixes and NONE of them has helped at all. The problem is I will get high ping that I can only seem to fix by unplugging and replugging the ethernet cable into my computer. I will go through what I know in dot point format:

    - I know it isn't the router, as I've been through 4 different routers and the problem has persisted.
    - I know it isn't the internet service provider as as I've been through numerous ones of thise
    - I know it's not the physical connection to my house as it's been happening on both ASDL copper lines and a newly installed Fibre Optical cable this year.
    - I know it isn't software as I've completely formatted my drive to remove the problem, to no avail.
    - I have bypassed the ethernet plug in into my computer by plugging an external ethernet card into the motherboard and using that, so it's not the ethernet port.
    - I have changed the ethernet cables, no fix.
    - I have a second computer on the network what doesn't get the same problem at all.
    - I have removed all dust from the electronics
    - in CMD i ping the router (192.168.1.1) and the request times out often, localising the problem to be between the router and the pc.
    - It happens over wifi and direct connection.

the computer didn't have this problem for the first 1.5 years of it's life with me, then one night halfway through playing a game, it begun. Like I said, unplugging and re plugging the ethernet cable into the PC CAN fix it, but some days I'm there for 40 minutes doing that to get results.

I have posted this on a few other forums but didn't get much help and I have had to give solving it a break cause I've spent hours on it and it just became overwhelming. But I would lke to finally sort it out.

    Here are my PC's specifications.

    - Samsung SH-222AB SATA DVDRW Drive $22.00
    - Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB HD103SJ $109.00
    - G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (2x4GB) DDR3

Andway hopefully this is enough information. Maybe there's someone on this forum more knowledgeable than the previous forums I've been on.

    Thanks in advance
    Scotty
