Hijack this help?

I've been reading alot about computer Hijacking, Spyware, and possible remedies to some of the problems I'm having. I've looked at several people's HJT logs and the recommendations of what to remove and what to leave in an effort to solve my problem (Free6 and Amazon) pop-ups. On my last attempt I removed a line item and immediately lost internet access. I did save a copy of the original HJT log but I don't know how to restore it as it does not come up under the restore option in HJT. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

 

If you were running HJT from its own safe folder, then the backups should be intact. Are there any line entries listed when you check "Backups?"
What folder are you running HJT from?

Thanks for the reply. Late last night I finally figured out the right combination which was to reset my network connection by creating a new network (with the same name), a new workgroup (with the same name), and re-entering my DNS information and everything worked fine. Believe it or not it corrected the pop-ups too. If there is anyone else who is experiencing this problem and would like to know more about the steps I took to correct my problems just let me know. I appreciate your response to this matter and I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier but between all the reboots and installations I forgot that I had started this thread. Anyway thanks again. This website ROCKS!!!
