Hillbilly Hensley needs help. PLEASE

Ruth was taking her daughter ( Brittany ) to school this morning when she noticed something wrong.
She took her to the hospital and found she was having a seizeure.
They treated her and sent her home.
They were only out of the hospital a few minutes when Brittany had a grand mal seziure.
She is going to be there untill they find out what happened.
Ruth went thru 18 days with me when I was in the hospital.
I was in a coma for 8 days and the docs thought i was gone.
I dont know how much more she can take or how she can be so strong.
recovery for me has been long and slow.
I pray Brittany will recover fast.
Thoughts and prayers are needed for Ruth.
I really dont know what to do for her to help her out.
Any ideas ??

Sometimes just being there is the best thing you can do. Are you able to stay over at her house? That way, you could assist with everyday chores if need be. Or be there to give a shoulder to cry on. Think about the things that she most likely won't think about, such as laundry, vacuuming, etc. Dinner is often a quick bite at McDonalds at times such as these, so maybe you can either offer to pick it up, or make dinner for her.
I don't know if all of this will be applicable or not, but just know that oftentimes, people just need to feel "not alone" and the best way to help her will be to just "stand by" for whatever may come up.

I developed Epilepsy when I was born and had those same seizures, It continued for 8 years and went away.

 

what eclayton said. Be there, do what you can, and offer a shoulder as needed. Pray with her, since that's meaningful to both of you. We'll keep you in our prayers.

 

My thoughts are with you, her and the child, I hope it'll turn out ok man.

 

Thanks meandog for gathering me up support for Britt. She had 2 generalized tonic clonic grand mal seizures, they put her on a new for of Dilantin, called phenytek, its a 24 hour slow release formula, so far so good, we just have to take it day by day and catch up on tons of homework *L*. Thanks for all your support and love you to death meandog xoxoxoxoxo

At least she seems to be stabilizing.

I understand everything thats going on, I have been on 15000mg (a day) of Depakote for about six years. I have been on many others it is very costly(200 a month no ins)
I was fortunate to "get it" right after HS

I have had it for 10 years, it has calmed down a bit with meds
but still occur, only not that oft.
last one I had was about three weeks ago
kids and wife saw it
vomit and poo. . .it had to be a bad one the first time they saw me have one
