hit by a car

This lady riding a little blue scooter
just got hit by a car in front of my house

the old lady driving the car was on the wrong side of the road
but there is a body in my front yard

cops just got here
now the medics


people are stupid

 

On my way to lunch today, I almost got hit by a bus, a Comed truck, 3 pickups, 2 pedestrians and some fruitcake in a bmw convertible.

No respect for bikes!

All in 45 minutes.

 

I hope she's okay. Keep us informed.

 

cars sicken me to the extreme. I cant count how many times someone has tried to switch lanes next to me without even looking over. Ive been lucky when hitting the horn and getting them to pay attention but I can just imagine some of the people who get pissed cause the person in front of them is slow and fly over to the next lane like their in a race car hitting me one day.

Is it really worth losing your life over to get in front of the person in front of you or not just paying attention?

In my relatively recent accident, the person trying to get ahead, did NOT survive.

 

I got hit by a car once and the lady drove me to the bike shop to get my bike fixed as i needed it for work, and on the way she rear ended some other driver she was like 80 definetly did'nt deserve her lisence.

Hu Ha!

 

First thing I bought for my bike after a helmet & a functional leather jacket was a new pair of horns with some authority. The little "meep-meep" horns they put on motorcycles are pitiful.

Hope the lady in your front yard is OK. Doesn't matter who's right/wrong, the bike always loses.

but what I think what happend was
the scooter was going north passing the intersection
as the car was making a left east
and the scooter lady just ran into her

but the town is small and I am sure it will be on the front page of the local paper this week

a guy came and walked off with the scooter
and the car lady and the cop where talking insurance before they left

 

My thinking is if you're going slow, daydreaming, talking on the phone, or doing anything else but driving, don't get pissed if I go around you, when its safe to do so.

The person who saved my life from the burning wreckage told me he being passed by her, not swerving to miss a dog.

 

So yeah, its apples to oranges.

And even if she was passing me, passing a slow car, to put yourself or others in grave danger is still not acceptable.

 

Try to avoid a dog and kill yourself. Hmmm.

 

That happens regularly, but Adryn's rescuer refutes that theory in this case.

Not necessarily in that order. Adryn's perp was likely guilty of at least #s 3 & 4.

I was 27 when that happened, I'm 28 now, and won't be 29 until a year from now.

My Mom got hit by a car just last month. Was crossing the street at the corner, had the right of way, and a woman turned the corner amd hit her from behind. I think they said she was talking on a cell phone. Mom didn't even see her coming. Said she was just up in the air all of a sudden and then down on the ground on her back. Top it off, the lady was driving with an expired license. Mom's doing alright, but has pain in her back now that she'd never had before, and Mom's pretty tough. She took a tumble down the stairs a few years back from wearing heels for a wedding. Bumped her head pretty hard, but got up, iced it for 10 minutes and went to the wedding! Hope I'm that tough at her age!

I tell ya, when I cross the street, I keep looking all around me, just because of people like that. I may have the right of way, but if someone chooses to run me over, right of way or not, I loose!


Always cracks me up when I see folks cross in front of traffic when they DON'T have the right of way, but they challenge you to hit them, because of course, the pedestrian has the right of way even if he's jaywalking. I always think, "Man, you challenge me, maybe I take you up on the challenge, run you over, you sue me, get money, (not any from me, I ain't got none) and lose your legs. You win in court, that doesn't grow your legs back!
