that is the error my friend gets when he runs his computer. it really happens when doing nothing and it's not hot to the touch. anyone know what it is?

 

What is the OS and graphics card? Have any new drivers been installed recently?

Its part of ati's recent driver upgrades. Its an option in the ati control panel for vpu protection.

and we just updated to the newest drivers

 

I don't personally use ati but a friend who does told me he used to get this all the time and once he disabled it, it never bothered him again.

 

hmm ok

 

but the thing is the monitor sometimes shuts off when this happens and it kinda needs fixed. if the monitor didn't shut off id shut off the notice and forget it but it kinda still messes up. what could be going on?
