a 6600GT is the best price/performance out right now, so If you want a new card, go for it. it wil last you decently for at least a year and a half or two.

the BFG's outperform the others, mainly because they are already Overclocked, so if you dont plan to overclock yourself, this would be the best performance.

XFX, MSI, and Gigabyte also make great 6600GT's, look up some reviews and decide for yourself.

the Verto's (PNY) are the bargain brand for video cards, and while they still perform well, they are not quite up to par with most others.

mmm. yes i have found a gigabyte 6600GT 128mb agp card for 200 bucks

it says it comes with PowerDVD 5.0 and "1 world class game"..i have heard over reviews that this game is...well doom 3... and i was going to buy doom 3 after i got this card ...hey that saves me 50 bucks!!! ....(i could use that towords more ram!!!)

is this true about doom 3?

it depends on which bundle you get. I know most of the PCI-Express 6600GT's from Gigabyte come with Joint-Ops and Theif 3, yet some of them come with Doom3.

I have also seen the AGP version (what you are getting) with Doom3, but I cant guarentee you thats the one you are getting. if you give me the model number of the one you are getting, i can narrow it down (or google the model number and look for reviews to see what they were packaged with)

    also....

is this a 1.5V AGP card? because my motherboard book sais that it does not take 3.3V cards

it is VERY hard to find reviews for the AGP version of the Gigabyte 6600GT... the 1 review i did find says the included game in the bundle was Spell Force.

having a newer board with an athlon 64 CPU, you will have no problem running this card
