I think there is a survailliance program of some kind on my PC - an ex has a alot of information that he could only have if he had access to my pc, or what I am doing on it rather... I understand a lot of these types of programs go very undetected - is there ANY way to find out if I have one?
    Thanks

on your keyboard, type in ctrl + shift + esc. now click on the processes tab. now list everything (don't leave anything out now) in that tab. we'll judge if there's anything suspicious.

Just a quick note for you. A friend had a similar situation and she found that her ex had set up her computer so he could remote in and he had changed her settings on her instant messenger (MSN, Yahoo, etc) to log all of her conversations. Then he could read all the logs. This doesn't show up as a process, but certainly can reveal a lot of information.

So, if it does not show in the processes, does anyone know how to find out if there is one on my system?

If your in Yahoo you can look in the Messenger folders on your computer and see where you've been and also your id's but not passwords. The Ypager log and Yacs log tell alot and the profile folder tells your id or id's.

The ones above may or may not relate to your software, so google each one and see if there is one or more you don't want. Then someone can walk you through msconfig to kill them. If this is a home PC, you might enable or install a software firewall to get more control of which programs can access the web.
