I want to file share between two computers, different makes, using XP Home.

I have a wi-fi router between them with ethernet connecting both pc, then the wifi router is connecting to my modem for Internet connectivity.

I have run the Network Setup utility on both pc, then shared a partition on each computer and allowing files and folders to be changed from either computer to the other.

On the one computer I can see the new shared partition but the other isn't showing the shared partition.

I have modified the network name from MSHOME to my own but they match on each computer.

Plan would be to move the entire My Documents onto the larger capacity, newer computer allowing the older access when and if needed. The file sharing and manipulation of files is crucial due to moving all this content to one location.

Also, I can not see the shared partition showing on the new computer from the older computer. I am wanting to see each partition from either computer to work with My Documents and anything else in the shared partition.

 

Added two photo from the new pc, shows the networked, shared partition. The older pc has a partition with shared attribute but I am not seeing the shared partition as I can the newer pc.

older pc doesn't show the shared partition available on the network. in this partition is My Documents while the newer pc doesn't have My Documents changed to the shared partition yet.
