Major Geeks Support Forum has been my home page for years. I had a username and different PCs but I was our of commision due to an accident for a couple of years. That's why it says I've been a member since 2011, when really I signed up years before that. Still, when the hospital gave me my PCs back (in 2011), this was still my Home Page (in IE). Over a year ago I changed to Chrome, due to some player problem. I pretty much hated Chrome, but my tech guy said IE wouldn't play some things anymore.

Chrome has always opened into Major Geeks as my home page, for over a year it's been fine. As of two days ago, Chrome opens up in in that blank page with images of recently visited sites. I have used the same cookie clearer and use the Chrome>Settings>History>Delete Browsing thing every night for over a year, and all's been fine.

Now as of two days ago with no Home Page, I have done the Chrome Setting things where you assign a page to open into about 15 times, putting this site in. The next time I power on, it's always the six or eight mini- images of blank screens. Does anybody know how to fix this? Thank you!

    Hi

If you where a member here before Aug 2011 it must have been under another user name.

As for Chrome, What is the cookie cleaner you use, please name the software as it maybe deleting your saved homepage as well?

But make sure Chrome is up to date and then add a homepage back using https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95314?hl=en-GB and delete any extra pages that open like the blank pages you are getting.

If your settings are not saving then don't use your cookie cleaner application for a bit and open and close Chrome to see if your Homepage is still saved and opening.

Thank you for answering! I was and probably still am the username I began with, but I don't remember it - the accident put me in a coma for a couple of months and I still can't remember what caused it or the first 2 months in hospital. I was going to scroll down the members listing and find my old name, but there are so many pages that I figured since I don't have a clue what my name was, why bother.

The cookie remover is a little icon that looks like a chocolate chip cookie in the upper-right of the url screen, right next to the three horizizontal lines to adject Chrome Setting. From what I can tell in Settings, it is actually a part of Chrome.

I have seen those white mini-screens before, and sometimes they are images of what sites I've been to, which is fine. And I use the cookie cleaner, Chrome History delete every time I shut down. As I said, it was all working great and Major Geeks was my home page when I powered up until 3 or four days ago - whenever I asked this question. I "set page" in Chrome Setting so many times since then, but it doesn't stay set. I miss IE so much...

Thank you! I wouldn't use Chrome unless I had to for work. But the chocolate coooke manager + Chrome>Settings>History Clean to the beginning of time + Advanced System Care Ulimate 7 has been just great for all of this time - about 18 months on this PC. I religiously do all of those steps before logging off, and the next time I have always gotten this forum as my home page when I power on again. Until a couple of days before I asked for help in this forum (because I had to go through the password verification emails back and forth and that took some time), everything was swell.

I don't get it and I need help! Is anyone able to assist? Thanks. :)

Also, I put glowing report and links to Major Geeks about three days ago on every social media I use, partly because DavidPB has is as part of his tag line

I fixed it myself just now sort of. I put in the Major Geeks url as Home Page for the umpteenth time in Chrome>Settings, etc. and just after signing out and going back to desktop, Advanced System Care window detected the change and asked if it was okay. One time in a hundred, probably, that the two things were happening within seconds. Yay!
